Wahab Riaz says that he is available for England tour this year.
Many thought I have taken retirement from Test cricket but I haven’t, I had asked Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to grant me a leave from test cricket for some time which was accepted by Pakistan Cricket Board, says Wahab Riaz.
“People were calling and remembering that I have had taken retirement from Test cricket but it wasn’t true as I have never taken Test retirement in fact I had asked Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to grant me a leave from test cricket for sometime because I have had to concentrate on shorter formats but if Pakistan need me, I’m available for England tour,” Wahab Riaz said.
Wahab Riaz who has got recognisation after World Cup 2011 and that famous spell of 2015, after which he was never been that consistent with the bowl. Although his all world cup were great as bowler which suggest he has been among the most successful Pakistan bowlers in the world cup as he has played three world cups till now.
Wahab Riaz have been among those who have played 12 years cricket but never was a consistent in playing eleven, on which he also said that he isn’t satisfied with the no. Of matches he has played in those many matches where he could have easily played a lot of more matches.
Wahab Riaz was most successful Test fast bowler for Pakistan in the period of 2014-2016 but Mickey Arthur who was the Pakistan Head Coach, didn’t like his approach and get him out of the team for two years before Inzamam ul Haq recalled him for World Cup 2019 in England.
Shoaib Akhtar also praised his availability while saying Wahab Riaz will be successful in England Test matches, he also praised that Wahab Riaz has taken a very good step towards his national team because his priority should always remain Pakistan, not money.
“I know Pakistan need me at this time, even it isn’t that easy to comeback in test cricket but as Pakistan need me I’m fully available for selection if needed,” Wahab Riaz added.
Misbah ul Haq the head coach of Pakistan team also praised his decision while saying whenever Pakistan need Wahab Riaz he will be called back into playing eleven as Pakistan also named Wahab Riaz in 29 names who will tour England.
Haris Sohail and Mohammad Amir are among those who will not take place in England tour because of the family reasons. Although Mohammad Amir will join his family as his wife is expected to birth a baby in late July.
While Haris Sohail has taken a call after asking by family members, he has said that he won’t be available for England tour so his name isn’t included in the 29 squad.
